As a visitor or new resident
Four things nobody publishes together: getting a prescription as a non-resident, using a prescription from another EU country, bringing your own medicine in, and whether a foreign video consultation counts.
Visitors and cross-border patients cannot use the programme: it is limited to people who reside in Luxembourg and are insured under the Luxembourg system, prescribed by a certified doctor resident in Luxembourg. Bringing your own medicine in for a short stay follows the Schengen Article 75 certificate rules.
1. Non-resident prescription: excluded by the programme's own criteria (brochure: résider au Luxembourg, assurance maladie luxembourgeoise). 2. Foreign EU prescription: no official statement opened; as elsewhere in the EU, narcotic prescriptions are outside the cross-border recognition rule of Directive 2011/24/EU Art. 11(6) — not verified for Luxembourg. 3. Own medicine: Schengen Art. 75 certificate, 30 days, from your home country's authority. 4. Foreign telemedicine prescriptions: not fillable under the programme.
