Prices — what is published

Prices as pharmacies report them to the public availability service GdziePoLek.pl or list them on DOZ.pl — with the pharmacy, town and date read. Flower is not reimbursed; the price is the pharmacy's own and the same item can cost twice as much elsewhere.

What the register does not record

The register records what is authorised, not what exists on a pharmacy shelf: an entry here is no guarantee that the raw material is actually imported, in stock, or obtainable in any given pharmacy, and Poland has repeatedly had shortages of listed items. It does not record the country of origin, the cultivation site or the manufacturer — the daneOWytworcy (manufacturer data) element is empty for every one of these entries, so the manufacturer field is null throughout — and it does not record cultivar or genetics, terpenes, price, availability, indications or effects. The authorisation validity date is the expiry of the marketing authorisation for that raw material, not an expiry date of any physical batch: where that date has passed the entry is marked expired, meaning the authorisation for placing it on the market has lapsed and the item should no longer be newly supplied under that authorisation, although the name may still be found on old prescriptions, in patient forums or in stock that entered the market earlier. Entries are also kept in the register after the date passes, so an expired row is a historical record rather than a current offer. Finally, the register says nothing about which doctors may prescribe these materials or which pharmacies compound them.
